I write for the web

I am hugely excited by new forms of communication made possible through digital media.  I love the internet for its scope, its flexibility, its speed, its diversity and its potential to create community.

I work for Maverick Television as the site editor for NHS local, which aims to transform healthcare through a range of  digital services.  I am responsible for the text on the site and the presentation of all the content.

I have enjoyed blogging in my role as a journalist, noticing the difference between being a newspaper columnist and having a voice in cyberspace. Now my blog is an integral aspect of my work. Click on the links to the right.

It is my belief that almost every organisation needs a presence on the internet. I am able to manage the building of websites on behalf of businesses, community groups and charities and develop their on-going communication through the web. I also write copy for print, whether that be brochures, reports, newsletters or flyers.

And, of course, I like to share my skills.  I am currently devising a programme for teaching young people how to write for websites and social media.  I am also interested in enabling adults and children to use digital tools to tell their life-stories.

If you feel I could help you or your organisation find its voice, do contact me.
